Blake Francis Hemmel * October 27, 1973 - July 25, 2022 * R.I.P. * You will me missed by many!! Love you always & forever!!

Blake Francis Hemmel, 48, of Azle, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He was born on October, 27, 1973 in Jefferson City, Missouri; a son of Vernon and Debbie (VanLoo) Hemmel. Blake was united in marriage on April 20, 2002 to Jacqueline Foster at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos, Missouri.

He was a 1992 graduate of Helias High School and went on to graduate from Lincoln University in 2000. Blake was currently employed with Smith & Nephew Pharmaceuticals as their Senior Quality Control director. He was a music enthusiast and played drums, guitar and piano. Blake also enjoyed playing video games with his children and supporting them in their musical, dance or sports endeavors. He was a great cook and an amazing griller. Blake was passionate about the Green Bay Packers and a proud “cheese head”. Most of all he loved his family and making memories with them. He will be greatly missed.

Blake is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Jackie; children, Alex, Wesley and Maggie Hemmel; mother, Debbie Hemmel; sisters, Marla Day and Kendra Hemmel; mother-in-law, Mary Foster; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Foster and Jenni Reynolds (Jack); brother-in-law, Jon Foster (Rachel); grandparents, Robert and Patricia West. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Hemmel; father-in-law, John Foster; nephew, Brennan Reynolds; grandparents, Gib and Sis Ortmeyer, Clarence and Helen Hemmel and John and Ann Foster.

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos, with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m with Fr. Roberto Ike officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to an Education Fund for the Hemmel Children in care of Jackie Hemmel.
