Tried doing a 609 letter for debt validation. They responded back with sending me a file with the charges that were made to the account, in what month's that they occurred, and a copy of signed contract between the bad debt buyer and US Bank SVP and Collection Manager. This all occurred after US Bank ran my credit report on June 1st and they sold it June 6th to Absolute Recovery who is using Alcon. They called my claims irrelevant and frivolous. I am going to still challenge their right to collect the debt. Researching how as of this letter...
Thank you for making these videos! I was about to use a letter to dispute items on my report & now I know better. As in the description, I'll call to get proper direction for my circumstances & discrepancies. Again, much thanks! Golden clarification in this platform of confusion...
So where does one find all of this info at?
Hello, can a debt collector place a hand written envelope with a letter addressed to you on your door?
Hi Mike, If a consumer is sent a debt validation letter can the consumer respond to the letter by sending the debt collector a general dispute letter stating that the consumer disputes any and all debts the debt collector is saying the consumer owes them without asking for validation? Does the consumer have to state why they are disputing the debt in their general dispute letter for it to be valid under the FDCPA? Would the debt collector be violating FDCPA if they do not mark the consumers credit report as disputed by consumer if a general dispute letter is sent to them by certified mail? Thanks
