You've Gotta Read This: The Diary of a Young Girl

This is a book talk about Anne Frank’s Diary of a Young Girl, the definitive edition.

It's a real diary kept by a girl named Anne, who is 13 when she starts it and almost 15 when she stops. When the Nazis occupied the Netherlands, Anne and her family went into hiding in what looked like an abandoned annex attached to an office building.

The Diary is remarkable partly because the Anne we get to know is a genuine, complicated human being, just like you. And you can't help but admire the fact that even in the midst of her fear and confinement that would bring out the worst in a lot of people, she becomes a hopeful young woman with high expectations for her future.
