Digital SAT Practice Test #1 | Module 1: problem 26 (systems of equations)

Today we'll solve a problem about system of equations from the Digital SAT Practice Test.
✔️ More digital SAT problems:    • Digital SAT Prep

Let’s solve the following problem:
🧮 For each real number r, which of the following points lies on the graph of each equation in the xy-plane for the given system?
2x + 3y = 7
10x + 15y = 35
a) (r/5 + 7, -r/5 + 35)
b) (-3r/2 + 7/2, r)
c) (r, 2r/3 + 7/3)
d) (r, -3r/2 + 7/2)

In this problem, we have an equivalent system of linear equations. Both equations have the same graph, therefore, if one point lies on the graph of one equation, it will also lie on the graph of the other equation. You can also multiply the first equation by 5 to get the second one.

To solve the problem, we will find the form of the ordered pairs using the variable r, as the statement of the problem request.

That’s all for today’s lesson, we will continue with our Digital SAT Practice Test in the next videos.
