Saint John Neumann was born in what is now the Czech Republic in 1811. He was a priest of extraordinary spirituality, with intense devotion to the Eucharist and selfless commitment to the service of all people. Throughout his life, John Neumann went about his work quietly and humbly. No special honours were given him. Only after his death did people begin to talk about their humble, good bishop who worked so hard for God. Well-known for his holiness and learning, spiritual writing and preaching, on October 13, 1963, John Neumann became the first American bishop to be beatified. Canonized in 1977, he is buried in St. Peter the Apostle Church in Philadelphia. Watch the story of this amazing Saint today!
