elec calc™ - Advanced data entry for electrical generators

elec calc™ provides users with a Generator component to define the characteristics of a HV or LV synchronous alternator supplying an installation.

The rated power, frequency and voltage can be entered in the fast entry area.

The following additional data regarding implementation can be entered in the Detailed entries window:
• The earthing system with the possibility to enter neutral earthing impedance values for LV IT earthing systems and for HV generators. Users can also state if the neutral is distributed for TT or TNS earthing systems.
• The earth electrodes to which the generator neutral is connected.

To calculate accurately the short-circuit currents downstream a generator, the user can enter the following data corresponding to the chosen generator:
• Subtransient reactance (Xd'').
• Transient reactance (Xd';).
• Positive-sequence reactance (Xd).
• Negative-sequence reactance (Xi).
• Zero-sequence reactance (Xo).
• Subtransient time constant.
• Transient time constant.
• Permanent short-circuit current.
• Rated cos ϕ.
• Stator resistance.
