Galactic Gravity

Galactic gravity is based on Newton's law of universal gravitation. This law states that the force of attraction between two bodies increases with increasing mass and decreasing distance between them. Galactic gravity causes all celestial bodies in a galaxy to attract each other and stay together due to this gravitational attraction.

The stars in a galaxy revolve around a supermassive black hole at the centre of the galaxy, which is usually very massive. This supermassive black hole has a great gravitational effect on the stars in the galaxy and pulls them towards the galactic centre.
