This is a review of the Sony 50-150 f/2 lens, comparing it to the Tamron 35-150 and the Sony 70-200 II lenses. Here's a summary:
Price: Sony 50-150 ($3499-3899) is more expensive than the Tamron 35-150 ($1600) and the Sony 70-200 II ($2800).
Sharpness: The Sony 50-150 is significantly sharper than the Tamron at all focal lengths (50mm, 100mm, 150mm). It is slightly to much sharper than the 70-200 at 100 and much sharper at 150. Cropped to 200mm, it is about the same or tiny bit less sharp but it wouldn't be noticeable in the real world.
Contrast: The 70-200 has better contrast at 150mm f/2.8. The Tamron has significantly worse flaring.
Macro: The Sony 50-150 barely beats the Tamron, but the 70-200 wins noticeably.
Bokeh: The Sony 50-150 has slightly cleaner bokeh than the Tamron. It is a tie with the Sony 70-200 when shooting wide open and cropped.
Other: Teleconverters (TCs) do not work with the 50-150. Its white color may be a drawback. It's perfect for weddings, portraits, and indoor sports. It will be delivered mid to end May.
Comparison: The Tamron becomes f/2.2 at 39mm, and 80-150 is f/2.8, has out of focus shots, and costs $1270 at Walmart. The 70-200 costs $2800 and can be compared to the 50-150 cropped to 200mm.
