An indented is a triple, with the middle bird short relative to the outside marks. Typically the short middle mark is thrown first, then the 2 longer marks.
It can be a difficult setup for young high-roller retrievers who love to run to long marks and have not been taught to "check-down" for short marks.
I use sit-sit then EZ release as cues to communicate to hunt carefully on the short mark. I also use "secondary selection" where the shortest mark is always picked up after the go-bird mark. I throw a bulldog diversion at then end because she has not seen that in a few months.
