Written for 10 oboes, "To the Power of 10" was commissioned by the Wigmore Hall for oboist Nicholas Daniel. It then underwent a substantial re-write and was performed in this revised version for Nicholas Daniel's 60th birthday concert at the hall. The piece is a playful consideration of the power of ten oboes, often playing in canon to create an overwhelming blast of pure oboe joy (-:
