*Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh* is a three-part series about the wise men and the gifts they presented to Jesus, exploring their symbolism. Today, in Part 1, we will focus on Gold.

The process of obtaining gold is quite intricate and time-consuming. It begins with mining deep into underground caves known as veins. Miners drill holes, insert dynamite, and detonate it to break apart rocks that contain gold deposits. After this, the extracted material is subjected to immense heat, resulting in the extraction of pure gold.

Interestingly, much of what is marketed as gold today is not genuine. For example, many rings and doorknobs are simply painted to look golden.

Now, let's delve into the symbolism of gold: Jesus was born in a cave made of stone, and the manger He occupied was also made of stone rather than wood. Just as gold is found within rocks, His greatness was not immediately recognized but emerged over time.

Initially, Jesus’ significance was overlooked by many, akin to how the true value of gold is sometimes obscured. The process of drilling and heating gold requires a great deal of pressure, suggesting that greatness is often forged under difficult circumstances.

In the Book of Revelation, it mentions that many will claim, "I am the Messiah." These individuals can be likened to painted gold; they may appear to be the Messiah but are not. Jesus, however, is the only true gold—the genuine Messiah.

Thank you for joining me today, and be sure to tune in next time for our Video on Frankincense. Bye, and see you soon THE END.
