This was our first time taking advantage of the guided trips provided on Misawa Air Base through Misawa ITT. We really enjoyed visiting the Ryusendo caves - Japan's three largest limestone caverns. It is located in the town of Iwaizumi, Iwate Prefecture, in the Tōhoku region of northern Japan. The tour also took us to the Kuji Amber Museum - the only area of Japan that produces amber. It was fun sculpting our very own pieces of amber and exploring the museum and its mines.
