SV SeaGlobe Season 2 Ep 6

Sitka Alaska, Boat Upgrades, then off to Warm Springs Bay via anchorages in bays seeing Grizzly Bears.

We arrive in Sitka for Alise's school testing and to get her 10th grade curriculum ordered, we do some maintenance on the boat and get a head start on outdoor projects with the nice weather. Austin buys a Kayak, we provision, do laundry, visit friends and family, pick up our mail, and stop by our storage unit. After we leave Sitka and on our way to our first anchorage we find out that our Spotlight is no longer working as well as our aft lamp. We realize that both blew probably during our welding fix. Frustrating, but understandable and we’re a little flustered for not realizing it sooner while we were in town and could have bought replacements. As both were new as of last season we didn’t have backups on board. The repairs are put on the list for our next town. We anchor in Appleton Cove and Appleton Cove and see our first Grizzly bears on the beach for this season. Austin teaches me more about piloting the boat. Then we head to Warm Springs for Hot baths and some rest Follow along on our journey as we travel around Southeast Alaska while living aboard our sailboat.
