1: Rafael Devers is the best DH in the American League: VIA SoxNotes on Twitter: Rafael Devers’ last 21 games: 7 HR, 24 RBI, 47 times on base. He can play wherever he wants as long as he’s hitting like this.
2: Jarren Duran and Trevor Story are starting to come around. When the key pieces of your lineup start to hit, that empowers the entire offense. Day-by-day Story is starting to put together good at-bats and get loud contact.
3: Marcelo Mayer and Roman Anthony are going to be here soon. Will Middlebrooks believes Campbell might start a game at 1st this week and expects Marcelo Mayer to be up shortly after if everything goes well. I would expect Anthony to be not too far behind.
4: 1-run game stat is not sustainable. Are the Red Sox unlucky? No. Have they had some unfortunate situations lead them to lose some games? Yes. That 1-run game stat is just not sustainable.
5: The AL East is not good. You’re better than the Orioles, Rays and Blue Jays. It’s not particularly close. You also have yet to face the Yankees this season who are good but not great. You could make up that 4 game deficit in one weekend.
6: Reinforcements are coming. Walker Buehler and Richard Fitts should be back soon adding a boost to a struggling rotation and Romy Gonzalez should be back this week as well.
