This was written for Day 29 of Ryan Leach's "2022 Theme of the Day Challenge" where I'll compose one piece per day for the entirety of June, though a series of delays ended up with me somehow managing to speed compose this along with like 8 other prompts in a row on the final day of the challenge. The prompt for June 29th was "Farm". I decided to go with a woodwind quintet playing a calm peaceful pastoral mood, reminiscent of taking a stroll through a farm or field. A small hint of hemiola, the horn inner melodies and chippy eighth-note staccato countermelodies added to this sense of joviality. Before posting this, I also rearranged the orchestration a bit, overall making the texture more sparse to convey a more colorful mood.
