Defying gravity is a powerful song that means many things to so many people. For me, it moves me to my core. It’s deep and is the climax to a pivotal shift of Elphaba’s character in the overall show.
I have listened to this song on my soundtrack CD that I purchased when I saw it on Broadway in NYC in September of 2004 with Idina & Kristin. I went on to see it another 3 more times on Broadway. When the movie came out in November, I went to see it 3 times at the theatre.
It is so fitting for me to use this sound bite to highlight a little of all that this pixie cut means to me. It too was a pivotal shift in my life that has brought me so many wonderful moments & new experiences.
I am enjoying all that this Butterfly Era is bringing in to my life.
