63 Nayanmars are a group of saints from Southern India who lived during the period of 6th to 8th century, they were highly devoted to the Hindu god Shiva. They expressed their devotion through love, poems, sacrifices, services like offering food, shelter, clothes, etc.
This series of 63 Nayanmars is about the life history of these saints and their devotion to Lord Shiva explained through classical dance form.
Sandeeshwara Nayanar also called as Sandikeshwarar who is the custodian for the wealth of Lord Shiva. He was born in Uthiram nakshatram of Thai month (mid of January to mid of February) in a Brahmin family at Thiru Chendhanur. As a small boy, he was taking care of cows and used its milk to worship Shiva lingam, which he made out of mud and meditated before it. Shiva blessed Sandikeshwarar for having intense love on him, where Sandikeshwarar expressed his love by attacking his own father for kicking the milk kept for worshipping the lord.
