ESL Program

There are three English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers in Nixa and they spend time in 10 of the 11 school buildings in the district. The ESL program serves on average about 130 students per year and is growing as Nixa grows. These teachers are not interpreters they just work with the students on a one-on-one basis. Most ESL students are not from another country, most are from the Nixa area but are being raised in homes where English is not the primary language spoken in the home.
