At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan, Ahsoka fans were treated to the news they’d been hoping for: Hayden Christensen is officially returning for Season 2. And for the man behind Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader, it’s not just another chance to ignite a lightsaber, it’s a deeply meaningful opportunity to continue exploring one of Anakin’s most important relationships in his entire life.
“I really have loved getting to explore the relationship with Ahsoka just because we're getting to see a different side of Anakin,” Christensen told Collider’s Maggie Lovitt during an interview in our studio at the event.
“I love working with Rosario [Dawson]. We have our own history. We've known each other since we were teenagers, and so to bring to life this relationship that's already been established in the animated world, that has its own history and its own dynamic, with someone that I've known for so long has been a lot of fun.”
Christensen also reflected on the broader legacy of Anakin and Vader, especially after reprising both personas in Obi-Wan Kenobi. “That was what was so exciting for me, getting to come and do the Obi-Wan project with Ewan [McGregor] was that I was getting to explore Anakin during that timeline, during the Vader timeline. I just thought that was really valuable connective tissue to sort of bridge the gap a little bit more between the work we did during the prequels and in the original trilogy. There’s a lot there that you can still explore with Darth Vader, and I hope I get the opportunity to do that.”
