BIBLE SERMON: A TRUE DISCIPLE

Who is a disciple? The word disciple in Latin means a learner. If we are all here to learn, then we are all disciples. But there are true disciples and false disciples. If you are a fan of sports, there’s a difference between a real fan vs a bandwagoner. A bandwagoner is someone who likes the team only when they are good, but a real fan is someone who sticks around even when the team sucks. At the First Coming, Jesus had many disciples, more than the 12 that we know. But when things got tough and difficult, they turned their backs on Jesus and left. Even among the 12, there was 1 that still betrayed. What made them so special that we remember them today? They learned from Jesus. Then for us, learning Jesus' teachings today, that makes us special also.
