In this episode, we will look at the amazing talents of drummer sensation YOYOKA and pianist Kyle Kihira.
YOYOKA, currently 11 years old, started playing drums at the age of one.
At four, she started performing at live shows.
At the age of five, she formed her family band "Kaneaiyoyoka". And at the age of six, while attending kindergarten, she released her first CD.
By continuing to hone her drumming skills, she was selected as one of the youngest nominees ever to win Newsweek's "100 Most Respected Japanese people in the World" and "500 Top Drummers in the World”.
She has performed with Cyndi Lauper, Fall Out Boy, and Billy Sheen, and has made appearances on American TV shows such as "Ellen's Room" and "NAMM Show".
Other appearances include commercials for global brands such as Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO. YOYOKA continues to influence people all over the world.
Kyle Kihira was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. It was at this early age when he began reproducing songs he had heard only once on the electric piano and his talent began to blossom.
At the age of 16, he was accepted into the prestigious Trinity College London. He received the distinguished "Exhibition Award," which is given to only a few students who are recognized for their high musical ability and potential.
As an active pianist he has toured all over Japan and has produced charity songs with some of Japan’s leading artists.
These artists include MISIA, who sang the national anthem at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, and singer/songwriter Masashi Sada, who has produced many famous songs such as "Kita no Kuni Kara" for "24 Hour TV 44" in 2021.
