Thieves executed a sophisticated heist at Love Jewels, a jewelry store in downtown Los Angeles, by tunneling through multiple layers of concrete from an adjacent property. The burglary occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the crime went undetected until employees arrived the following morning. The store's alarms had failed, and its security camera feeds were cut. The burglars made off with at least $10 million worth of merchandise, including watches, pendants, and gold chains. The store owner claimed the loss could be closer to $20 million and noted they did not have insurance coverage. Two large safes containing all the store's inventory were broken into. The suspects fled in a late-model Chevy truck and remain at large. Detectives are examining security footage and collecting forensic evidence at the scene.
