On the night of April 10, 1991, the Italian ferry Moby Prince collided with the oil tanker Agip Abruzzo off the coast of Livorno, igniting an inferno of flames that engulfed the ship. 140 people lost their lives, not because of the flames, but because of carbon monoxide suffocation, while desperately awaiting help in a fireproof room.
