The bill essentially paves the way for businesses to accept gold and silver instead of cash. The bill also creates the possibility of a gold or silver debit card which can spend gold and silver easily at any business. Not all of the details are worked out as to how this will work, but it is the first step in making gold and silver money again. The US Constitution allows for any state to make gold and silver coin legal tender in payment of debts. Florida is not the first state to do this, but they are the biggest state to affirm gold and silver coins as a currency. Will this catch on and will other states make gold and silver money as well?
