Common is the type of guy who gets excited by the thrill of conquering, and once he achieves that, he loses interest because the challenge is gone. That's why he often targets the 'it' girl—the one who has everyone vying for her attention because she's successful and independent. He pursues these women as a challenge, aiming to break down their strong, ambitious nature with romance and make them submit to him. Right now, he's with Jennifer because she's not emotionally yielding to him. She doesn't talk about a future with him and remains indifferent to the idea of being with him long-term. He’s pulling out all the stops to try and make her want to settle down with him, but she’s just not interested, and his goal to conquer her isn’t being met. This ongoing challenge is what keeps their relationship going. He’s probably one of the most insecure men in Hollywood. If Jay-Z hadn’t gotten with Beyoncé early in her career, Common likely would have tried to add her to his list. The only consistent thing about him, besides his habit of breaking hearts, is his preference for pursuing women of color.

Ugh! I personally think it's just rude to say to a woman, even in private let alone in public, "IF I was to EVER marry...it would be to someone just like you, or you..." What kind of BS is that to say to the person you are in a love relationship with. It is not a compliment. He's plenty old enough to settle down and be serious. Had plenty from the candy dish. He's not serious husband material. Sorry. He likely said the same thing to Tiffany.
