I've noticed I really appreciate when you say "grab your favorite snack and drink" at the start of these. It makes me feel very acknowledged. I do like to grab my favorite snack and drink before getting started.
I would always recommend using the charger, I have a Zephyrus G14 and apparently if you charge over USB C, the laptop runs off the battery while also charging the battery at the same time, putting lots of stress on it and degrading it quicker, whereas if you use the AC adaptor, it runs directly off mains and bypasses the battery entirely.
50+ FPS in Cyberpunk... On an APU... in 1600p... SIXTEEN HUNDRED! What is going on?!

i love the awkward pause waiting for the two thousand dollar computer to realize it's been reattached to its keyboard
I’m an Industrial Designer, and I spend a lot of time between the factory, my office, and home. So, a PC isn’t really an option for me. I currently have an i9 RTX 3070 laptop, which is large, loud, and bulky. I’ve been trying to replace it with something smaller and quieter that still has the processing power I need for 3D modeling, rendering, and sketching. Right now, I also have to carry an iPad for sketching. I really think this product is made for me. The price is high, but considering it will replace both my iPad and laptop, which cost me $2,000 when I bought it four years ago, I personally think it’s a great deal at $2,200 if you’re using it for work and hobbies. I’m even considering getting one for my wife, who’s an architect and carries around an i7 4060 laptop for her job on-site and in the office. My only question is: how would this perform with an external GPU? Let’s say I have a 4080 at home, would I be able to use it for rendering and gaming?
The best Z13 review I watched, not too technical but still detailed, and thanks for testing bazzite!
I almost bought the last 2 generations but resisted. This generation might finally get me
This chip will be a game changer. I think weve kinda hit a technological wall with more power/more performance. Now were making progress in putting the power in a smaller package, which imo, is the more exciting part.
This isn't a snack and drink video, this is a full-on dinner video! (I had kebabs.) Thanks Russ 😋
That price without an high refresh rate oled or mini led screen is crazy.
Guys who cares if we can't buy this. Its the fact that this tech is available. Give it 1 to 2 years and prices will plummet with competition
This is such a cool device. I think what stops me from buying it though is the fact that the GPU is built on RDNA 3.5 right when RDNA 4 GPUs are being released. FSR 4 will only run on RDNA 4 due to hardware limitations. So you are being asked to pay $2-3k on last gen GPU architecture and you will be left out on the latest upscaling and frame generation tech. That's a tough pill to swallow.
Z13 has previously been plagued by keyboard failure, which is on track for Asus' usual QA. This is a major pass.
Something I wanted to note. You're correct that the lowest model has a lower spec APU, but those core and thread counts at 2:37 are actually the CPU portion which hardly affect gaming performance when comparing CPUs with core counts this high. The GPU portion of the APU on the higher tier models has 40 cores (8060s) and the lower tier model has 32 cores (8050s) which does affect gaming performance heavily.
The phawx mug is a nice touch
Thanks for actually showing it in the lap too!
This is something I’ve been looking for when traveling for work. Almost jumped the gun on a Macbook Pro for the lightweight and portability but have to redo workflows for the new OS. This has the advantage of fully syncing with my work from my home setup. If it can do at least 8 hours of light work, then this is it for me.
Loved the review and your view no the product+ that nod to the phawx by having his mug out on the table was really fun
