the thing with Giannis is that despite the rough beginnings and the hardships of his early life (and believe me 90's Greece was not a good place for immigrants) he is not bitter or vengeful. Sometimes as a Greek I am surprised with the resilience of this family. Truly inspiring. Furthermore, he has managed success better that anyone else I can recall rising from "rags to riches". He remined humble and he is very articulate and down to earth when he speaks. This is not something small. Most top athletes devout themselves so much to their craft that they omit all other aspects of their character. Giannis is truly special

Mad respect for Giannis for overcoming ordeals and making it to the NBA, he's actually the first player I got introduced to when I watched basketball for the first time. This is coming from a young South African teenager who'd love to play basketball overseas one day despite obstacles.
