I’ve always thought the random Medicham in Candice’s party in Gen IV could be Maylene’s, like that trek Maylene took up to Snowpoint was to ask for Candice’s help training it and deciding on a coverage move. Candice only has a Medicham once, and anytime Maylene uses a Medicham from then on, it has Ice Punch like Candice’s did. She’s trained a Machamp with Ice Punch, too. The two of them are shown to be pretty close in Platinum, and I think it’s a cute idea.

In the "Distant Blue Sky" (last ep of ultjourneys), Ash's mother tells him that his father came to meet them. However we will never get to see him cause Ash missed the chance.. 😔 anyway, in the first episode of the galar series (journeys) we get to see pikachu's backstory that he was a pichu.

The Pikachu theory has been d’bunkd. But the fatherly personality towards baby pokemon still remains. Since Pikachu when it was a pichu was adopted by kangaskhan. And it’s THE parent Pokemon, so i reckon we know where the personality came from

My one problem with the PWT theory is that surely either everyone involved wouldn't have consented to their likeness being taken or otherwise they just... would occasionally be reported as being both in the PWT and somewhere else at the same time? Like, I'd get it if the acting was openly acknowledged, but not if they were trying to trick people.

Ash's dad does show up in Journeys and have lunch with Ash's mum, planning to meet Ash, but Ash just barely misses him. So we know he's not Pikachu lol
