@kenakerly

It is July 2024. Back in 2004 during the DNC we had the TV on I remember being in the kitchen preparing some food and I could hear this on in the background. The more he spoke the less I could focus on the work to be done in the kitchen. More and more I started to listen to what this man was saying. I had never heard of him before that time. By the time he got half way through this speech I was standing in front of the TV captivated by his words and how he was delivering them. When he was done I had tears of joy in my eyes with the realization that great days awaited us if only he would choose to run for president. He did. We did. I wish we could have this again. Vote.

@StormFive

I listen to this man speak and I hear no divisiveness. I hear no identity politics. I hear a man, a faithful man, a presidential man, speaking to people to dream big. I love it!

@jpcharles01

Its 2023 and I keep coming back here to watch this speech and being inspired. This man is one in a billion. I am not even American and I feel he impacted the world positively.

@cameron6642

After that speech I felt like an American, and I’m Australian.

@FredeeG90

To think this during this speech he wasn't even running for president.
That crowd sounded like they wanted him to be president then and there.

@yekhaungoo1991

One of the speeches I often listen to, as an inspiration. I'm not even American, but a Burmese guy who is trying to make things right in Myanmar. This just gives me chills everytime I watch it.
If I'm feeling down, I would even recite this speech to reinvigorate my energy.

@franciscothemudodeoliveira9287

"Must've been a good speech"

@briansounalath

Who’s watching this in 2020 to remind themselves what a real President was like?

@umuoza9375

This is 2022, but i am still sobbing, my eyes filled with tears watching this speech again; I am not American and i dont live in America but I cant stop listening to this man;...Why cant other leaders think, speak and act with passion, love and energy like this man?...This is hope to humanity, not just for America/Americans..This speech is hope to the living, and honestly i believe it

@xSparkShark

"The hope of a skinny kid with a funny name who believes that America has a place for him too"

Incredible public speaker. I miss this man

@thejanglezclan

I watched this speech live, as a 15 year old adolescent, and I said "that man will be the first black President" I was right, and I'm so thankful for Barack Obama!

@spencerp7331

One of the greatest speeches ever. The greatest orator of our generation. We are so lucky to have had him. Makes me proud to be American. I really really hope one day we can again have someone on his level.

@DocMartin_88

If it wasn't for John Kerry we might have never known Barack Obama. Thank God for John Kerry selecting Obama for this speech.

@willyzh1106

Whatever your political opinions on him may be, it's hard to deny that Obama is the best orator among politicians in this generation.

@bretlunsford

Every single word of this. THIS is what the country needs right now. 🇺🇸

@ahodbikes

Jesus, this is the first time i've seen this and it is incredible. I wonder how many people in the room were watching this man and thinking "That right there is our next President."

@shandie3196

I'm finishing Michelle's book on my small apartment balconey in Nairobi and it's so hard not to dream....

@MeshMN

When I first heard this speech, I knew in my heart this guy was going to be President one day ...

@bridgesfnm1

Reading Michelle Obama's book.....she speaks about this pivotal speech, so I am watching to remind myself of that marvelous day when Barack Obama was introduced to America. Remembering the pride I felt listening to his striking and meaningful words. He really was a president in the making.

@fanesalima2760

I'm not even an American and this sent chills down my spine
