@MadBonkersYes

The answer is simple: people have lost faith in both Labour and the Conservatives, and are turning to alternative parties in search of real change.

@DaiNewAfan

For a non-welsh outlet youve done a great job at covering the details, including the nuance, pronouncing things in Welsh properly and putting your finger on the magnitude of 2026. Top marks

@fateenshareef8716

If the Welsh and Scottish Labour are well to the left of UK Labour, makes you wonder exactly what the fuck is the UK Labour doing playing right?

@iisotter8944

For around the last 20 years I have voted for Plaid. All I can say is that I have one of the best MPs, he's Plaid; he fights for every constituent, and as incredible interactions with us all. Most people have met him and know him. He is constantly fighting for us in Westminster, and you can phone his office anytime with worries and concerns, or see him out and about. He is such a wonderful human being and I feel so privileged to have an MP that cares so much about his county and works so hard for its' people.

@HDTomo

Plaid has a solid platform and offers real change - your options are the two big nothings, the lib dems/greens who'll never win and Reform who is actively against Welsh interests.

I'm voting Plaid for the Senedd personally, especially since they're ruled out a term 1 referendum.

@Knappa22

My constituency is represented by a Plaid Cymru member of the Senedd and she is superb. Hardworking, responsive, gets things done.
I may vote differently in UK wide elections but locally and nationally in Wales I always vote Plaid. They are our party, from our country and for our country.

@BardicRJ

I’ve been a fan of Welsh Labour over the years but now Labour as a whole is in power. I understand why folks are done with them. Even if Welsh Labour is good, if the bigger version is this bad at their job. I’m going Plaid.

@monsterfurby

I'm not from Wales but got my Masters in Aberystwyth - and frankly, Plaid doesn't strike me as a bad choice. I don't think Wales is as ready for independence as Scotland could be, but they deserve a better seat at the table than they presently have.

@TheWelshSportsPodcast

You forgot to mention the fact that Wales are paying for HS2 when no track is ever going into Wales

@kayedal-haddad

I’d love to see Plaid win the Welsh Senedd elections in 2026!

@DynDdoniol

FINALLY! TLDR actually made a video about Wales for once and stopped ignoring the fact that we exist!

@RegrettableGekoYT

I worked in TATA steel in port talbot. I was one of the thousands that got laid off when they closed down production.

And I can say this about the situation in Port Talbot. It is really bad. With so many people all out of work all at once, most of whom did not get any form of redundancy payment, there is absolutley no work here.

Ive been looking for a job since october last year, I have applied for everything I can find both here and in neighboring towns and citties and have found nothing. The job market in South Wales is completely fucked with so many people out of work. And I am just 1 of thousands of people who are dealing with this situation.

@callum4796

I've lived in Wales all my life and I've travelled around it quite a bit. I don't think the dissatisfaction with Labour is purely on the party. There's a sense here that the UK government in general just doesn't care about about Wales. A number have factors have contributed to this. A disproportional lack of of funding for Wales compared to the rest of the UK, being the only UK nation that doesn't own its own natural resources, the Welsh government being almost always being ignored, overruled or hindered by the UK government. In my lifetime I can't remember the last time the 2 government's constructively worked together. Even during COVID Borris was ignoring phone calls and emergency meetings from the first minister. The UK government also shut down the Swansea lagoon project which would have massively contributed to the economy and generated enormous amounts of electricity and had been in the works since before I was born with tens or hundreds of billions already spent on designing it. There's also the fact the UK government's complete lack of support for port talbot steel works (the largest in the uk) and their complete support for the English steel works which has just fueled the idea that the UK government doesn't care about Wales. There's also the promise that Labour made that Wales would be put first because of its loyalty to the party but as soon as they were in power UK Labour seemd to just immediately abandon welsh Labour. All of this has combined for a cataclysmic change in welsh politics and the independence movement is rapidly growing with it

@grandlordkaching9560

Imagine if plaid cymru got a low taper fade

@nofearofwater

We largely don’t want independence and voting for Plaid isn’t a vote for independence, Plaid even said they won’t push for it in the first term, it’d never hit 51%, but we want changes like everyone else wants. It’s the winds of change in the UK

@thebigmarvinski

Really hope Plaid take Labours share of vote, it be an absolute wake up call to Labour Westminster.

@skimaskrick

Anytime I see Wales mentioned I got a brief moment of pride at being mentioned 😭

@TEIrwell

For all Welshman here who may be reading this, I see your opportuntiy here, and it makes me happy to see you have it.
I can only wish us here in the North had it. I fear many are turning to the Far Right to fill in the gaps left by a fragmented and bias political institution. A generation of hard Toryism, two years of Labour, and we're already swinging further Right than we've ever gone.
When even Labour is acting like this, it's time for change.

@fodz9040

Great to see a vid like this, diolch yn fawr - One correction - there is no 'Welsh Assembly' now, its Senedd o'r The Welsh Parliament
