Strange last time i looked into the mirror i played Rock paper scissors and lost.

@littleblueclovers

I know people are memeing “I’m the gift”, but it seems like her demon literally gifted her the ability to remain herself. I love that.

@gaidencastro9706

She doesn't have her cheek stitches anymore. This means one of two things:
 1) The stitches can heal.
 2) This is a prequel.

@MrMister681

"alright buddy, you got two options here. you can be saint or you can be a grinch. so what's it gonna be? huh? huh? a saint? seint or a grinch? grunch "

@mikeypon768

Wasn’t expecting to see a sequel to Deadline, but I’m happy about it regardless.

@stickee4045

Is that why she didnt turn into one of them in deadline?

Damn, this is some real lore.

@coreraid

Theory: In the Deadline ‘verse, everyone has a demon inside them. Literally. The shadowy, masked creatures that people transform into briefly every ten hours are a manifestation of that person’s negative qualities, losing all reason and morals but not thought.

The briefness of this purge is the only reason Deadline’s society has gotten so far, with the vast majority of citizens barely even registering the horror of their existence because it’s all they’ve ever known - nobody enjoys hitting the Deadline, but it’s just a fact of their reality. There’s nothing they can do about it.

Except there kind of is.

Our heroine, merely one among many, has a bit of a secret. One too many trips to the bottom of a bottle and a brush or two with death put her in deeper touch with her inner demon than most - and, against all odds, she managed to make a good impression on her own bad side. Her demon is happy right where it is, and as a result, she doesn’t transform during the Deadline.

Which would be great if, y’know, she wasn’t the only one in the world who didn’t.

Our heroine gets to keep her mind when the Deadline rolls around, but at the cost of being left to deal with the rest of the world directly rather than leave it to fate. Nobody remembers what happens during the Deadline, so her secret is kind of self-keeping, but, well, she’s gotta eat. And their society is built to ignore the damn thing.

So that’s fun.

@jakobk3954

guys, SHE'S the gift

@Sleepyvoidboi2111

I kinda like how the people are patchwork and the patches hide their wounds. It makes the original animation a bit more interesting when u notice exactly how much patches there are on people

@imerror6224

I wish my violent entity from another dimension that can possess people every 10 hours gave me gifts as well.

@FlowerSunAndRainEnjoyer

Man, i'm to see she's back! Even if she's looking mildly exhausted, what matters is that she smiled

@MementoMahi

SHE'S BACK

@nowheresquared

Not gonna lie, I come back to this one a lot, and I usually watch it a few times. This combined with the Deadline animation.

It's just so oddly comforting to see Cassandra at peace with what in her world is her very literal inner demon. It reminds me that I can face mine. :)

@clowndumpling7967

U have no idea how many times I've got "Shaba dabada bi bi" stuck in my head Joel
