Honestly, my manners and characteristics change when I'm outside the house π It's not that I'm not being myself. I just believe in "right place is to right manners" and you should respect others and the establishment rules. (P.S. I'm not rude or uncivilized when I'm alone at home. I am more relaxed, as in my legs are open while watching the T.V. and I sneeze harder π)

My mother always thought us to accept gifts graciously. So even if theyre terrible just say thanks. It can be the thought that counts. You can always regift. I remember when i didnt have pierced ears my SIL gave me earrings. She was going on blowing her own trumpet about how she picked them out for me but never noticed i didnt have pierced ears!! π€·π»ββοΈ
