Frank Robinson might be the most underrated superstar in the history of American sport. Discuss...

@randybailin4902

I think Frank Robinson might be the most underrated ballplayer in history. As tough as they came, he was hard as nails on the field. As complete a player as there's ever been, including Willie Mays. The heart of those great Oriole teams along with Brooks.

Pete Rose got himself in trouble in Cincinnati for associating with black players, mainly Frank. To his credit, he didn't care and continued to go out to dinner and hang with his guys anyway. I've always respected Pete for that.

Quite possibly, the most underrated and under appreciated ballplayer in the history of the game. He played in the Midwest during the era of Mays, Mantle and Aaron and probably never received his just due. This guy was an absolute stud . . tough minded and fearless . . and his career statistics rate right up there with the best of the best. He was the childhood hero of tens of thousands of Red's fans . . including me.

Absolutely one of the greatest ballplayers EVER!!!! I saw Robinson in 1972 get thrown out stretching a Double into a Triple and arguing with the ump, cannot remember if he'd been thrown out of the game but really got into the umps face, LOL...What a competitor..He killed my Red Sox every time the Orioles played them it seemed...That time period, between 1966-72', the Orioles may have been one of THE great teams of all time, they were just that good....And Robinson made the difference...

@lwcowgirls

Frank Robinson wasn't on the all-century team....That's Insane

@buckfan1969

Robby has always been my favorite player; a home run hitter who played the game harder than anyone else. He was known as the black Ty Cobb back in the day. I was heartbroken when the Reds traded him to Baltimore in 1965, but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to him. I checked the Orioles box score every day for the next 6 years.

@danacoleman4007

I can't even begin to imagine the strength it took for Frank and countless others to have gone through what they did. It really shows what great character and determination he had!

@tonyramos1936

Most underrated player that ever played, 5 tool player right up there with Mays, Aaron & Clemente

@ElAviadorNegro

Remembering Frank Robinson (1935–2019). Hall of Fame baseball player and the first black manager in major league history.

@TRRyan

I saw Frank homer at Memorial Stadium in 1966 when he won the Triple Crown. Such electricity in the park when he stepped to the plate. He was a one-man wrecking crew that year, easily the most valuable player on a World Championship team.

@patrickgray5633

Frank Robinson was as tough as players got.

@tellthetruthg

@VinegarAutofill

RIP To a legend

@walterbowden3472

I agree Frank Robinson will be one of my favorite players. Jackie Roberson broke the color barrier and Frank Robinson took it a step further.

@samuelmahmud1909

A LEGEND! One of the greatest to ever play the game

@tomroby2541

My son and I met Frank Robinson in Cooperstown in 2014 during the HOF induction weekend. A real gentleman...

@markbrian7179

One of the most underrated baseball players of all-time. I'm so sad that he passed away and I'm going to miss him!

@kelvinpeterson8397

My childhood hero. I’d watch both doubleheader games just see him come to bat. Only player to hit a ball out of Memorial Stadium. Rip Frank.
