@theclassicaldiscourse

Christianity is Good. Christianity is True. Christianity is Christianity.

@Xpistos510

Credit to Michael Shermer for at least saying that you made a good point.

@ethanbarganier2739

The problem with Christianity is not the belief itself but the people who use that belief to justify their own detestable behavior. As a catholic, we have no shortage of people using the church and it’s authority to do things and justify horrendous acts even when condemned by prelates including the pope. Heck even some popes have been serious sinners and were incredibly fallen.

@russianbot2630

His moral framework is arbitrary. By what basis does he have to call something good? Atheism is inherently morally relativistic.

@lordforages8319

IP was the one who helped me return back to Christ our lord.
Thank you Micheal Jones for returning me to our messiah and God

@TheKryptoniteShow

Jesus defeated sin on the cross! People choose to do evil. Jesus will return!

@richardwallach5777

We see what we want to see. Those who humble themselves shall be exalted and those who exalt themselves shall be humbled.

@semajyorel1833

The bad examples they think are representative of Christianity is not really Christianity. Calling out evil while not forcing goodness on others is Christianity. It is a choice to serve God. We're just reminding people of that by preaching the gospel.

@kimberHD45

Michael’s problem here is he didn’t challenge the atheists attempt to redefine what is good. The church has always opposed homosexuality as a behavior by calling It sinful behavior. That’s what it is, and to support it in any way is to abandon what is good, and to become its self evil.

@zachmorgan6982

Scientist never claimed to have a source of supreme intelligence and unlimited moral wisdom. They said elwe have a mthod and we will use it on alot of different things , see what the results are and go from there. This is a systematic rigorous method. It assumes as little as it needs to and builds knowledge from there.

@alisterrebelo9013

Michael Shermer may yet be convinced of at least deism (William Lane Craigs Kalam argument). Just based on this clip, he has too much honesty to remain atheist forever.

@maclennylucas2248

There is a dark kingdom that has already been judged ruling this world, but it has not come down yet.

@MrSmith-zy2bp

Shermer is working with a presupposition that homosexuality is a "good," but it's an evolutionary dead end.

@randyeldridge1222

Christianity has 1 objective. Find all the people who are going to believe. Once the last one is found Jesus is coming back.
Until the last one is found we are to be a light to the world and it was never meant to be a religion to save the world.
Jesus made it clear the world would be judged and believers would be spared from the judgment to come.

@kyrman6038

Kudos to Dr Shermer for conceding a good point when it is made.

@MrWesford

has no way to have any justification for an objective standard for morality

“Why aren’t Christians good?”

@NiglyasHoge

If Christianity is such a force for good, then why is it still being used to repress the rights of others? Why, for thousands of years, has Christianity incited righteous violence and religious wars?

@lilypercell6793

Hate the sin, love the sinner. The truth is, heard from famous gays it's abusive to both partners... deliver us from evil! Amen

@Trytantix

Isn't that what their scriptures told them to do? But they did the opposite. They are worse.

@AaronJediKnight

As Bishop Barron has pointed out several times, Kant made a mistake b6 reducing religion to nothing but morals. Humanity is still learning slowly, as we can see with the recent developments about capital punishment.
