This short film perfectly conveys the trauma that abusers inflicted on their victims. They may be already free from them, but they are still a prisoner of that traumatic experience.

@AtrocityEquine01

My theory is she killed him but despite being free from him, she can never escape the abuse he inflicted on her.

@owenwalker1774

Meaning: PTSD from spousal abuse lasts for years, even after the abusive spouse has been dead or out of the picture for years.

@Paperplanes_kush

She’s a GOOD ass actor. I’ve watched these short horror films for awhile now. This one was clever & whoever wrote it deserves something.

@wakeup1507

Her husbands demands "GIVE ME A SANDWICH" even after death, still screams out loud in her subconscious. His grasps on her mind still tourtures her, never peace of mind. Great short film.

@michaelcox545

She owns an unholy amount of plates for just two people

@enderefecerit1980

At least she is giving him with different flavors each time.

@thefireman17492

1:55 i love the subtle foreshadowing here. You can't see his face viewed from this angle, but just the texture and color on the back of his head is enough to tell you that something's off; but then again, the camera zooms on his face and he seems to be just fine. At first you don't think much about it, but then the camera moves back to that angle and you notice his head isn't moving at all; he eats and munches on that glass like it's nothing and you realize something is incredibly wrong, then when the final reveal comes you understand why that was the case. It is details such as these that make up for a great cinematic experience that leaves you with dread and suspence thorough the whole video.

@ilovenickelsfrfr

this is what horror was meant to be. no cheap jumpscares, just a constant feeling of dread and becoming more uncomfortable the more you watch. amazing!

@TenThumbsProductions

The sound guy did a great job.

@shadow012333

So basically, she was so stuck in her mental state of being abused by him that she kept doing what he asked because in her head he kept asking but he had already been dead so long that it never hit her, so she kept blindly doing deeds for him, like she's basically stuck in his hell along with him

@wildlifetracker1994

This short film speaks volume, with many hidden anecdotes, and a solid theme. The first, Marci has to live with the abuse even after the man is dead and gone. Second, Marci is always so busy serving the man that she never gets any time to herself (to finish her crocheting). Third, the man eats whatever Marci makes, even if it has glass in it. People would usually feel the sharp object in the sandwich and not continue to eat it. So, to me the glass is symbolism that represents a psychological disorder, and/ or, it represents the manipulation of others to be complicit. Finally, the glass is shattered at the end meaning the relationship is coming to an end and the walls are finally coming down. Just my thoughts on it.

Great story! The way the writer uses the theme to convey messages about abuse and mental illness. Along with the hidden figurative languages to help convey those themes is brilliant. 10/10

@MCVessels

Disappointed that he wasn't magically transformed into a sandwich at the end.

@midnight-show

This is genuinely scary yet no jumpscares, this is true horror

@swamp1634

The man never moved when it was a shot from the back of his chair, amazing attention to detail.

@chloebrooks7400

What's beautiful about this is how accurately it captures PTSD from abuse, as many others have pointed out.
Even though he has been dead for a long time she is still in a constant state of hyper vigilance from walking on eggshells around him. It's the body's memory of the trauma that causes her to subconsciously be in a constant reactive state and just keep making these sandwiches to protect herself from the abuse.
I think the video is a great way of showing people how abuse affects us in the long term particularly to those that may not understand it.

@Ephroe

I love how aggresively he ate a sandwich

@randomutubr222

The part that disturbed me the most was when she tried sweeping spilled mayonnaise with a broom.

@koji2975

My theory is that he died randomly and she just has alzheimer's, dementia or schizophrenia and she just can't escape from the abuse she's endured from him while he was alive and just continues as if he's still alive. She just can't escape from this vicious cycle
