Oh my word......no way! I made those 'apple barrels' in my Sunday School class 40+ years ago. My NANA was my teacher. We used glass baby food jars instead of cans, cause we had quite a few babies in our family and had plenty of those. We would wash and dry each jar, then carefully place each of them in a box. When we had a box full, off to church we would take them. Each child would get a baby food jar, halved clothes pins (which were colored by myself and my NANA with any leftover stain my grandfather had from a project). The craft teacher would help us glue them on. While the glue dried, we had story time (which another teacher used that opportunity to properly secure the clothespins with hot glue). We would then come back and add the rope. A little candle would be put in it. The glow was beautiful.
Thank you for helping me to remember my Nana and the special times we shared. This was a blessing on Mother's Day! Thank You, Collette! 💜

Your barrel reminds me of whiskey barrels One year in the 70’s, I worked on the dock of a department store. They got in a huge shipment of half-whiskey barrels which were stored in one room just off the dock. You couldn’t stay in the area for too long because the whiskey was soo strong you got a little bit of a buzz. Lol
Great projects - as always!
Hope you had a great Mother’s Day. God bless. Ruth
