I would recommend that don't try to overlap the highlighter with the other strokes. Just do a simple gothic or cursive title with a black gel pen and one stroke of highlighter on the side/s, or write your title in a simple marker and try not to exaggerate much with your cursive handwriting. Main tip: It's not important to decorate your notes. We can use highlighters for only headlines so we can easily recognise the topic.
