Out of the 20+ suffering animatics, Gigi's is the only one I've seen that does a good job of hiding the fact that Penelope is a siren. Most just reveal it right off the bat, so I really hope that Peter and Jen and all the other reactors go for this one when they get to thunder

Jorge did say that he wanted Scylla to give the audience nightmares. I think Gigi succeeded. I love how this design takes the realism of the moray eel and stretches it to the fantastical.

Few things that they missed: The reason why Urilicus can't see what's coming is because in the original story, it's said that Scylla's lair is pitch black, so none of them can't see a thing. Scylla's lair has random blood splatters on the walls from her previous victims. While they where focusing on the bird's eye view of the ship, with the sail and mast looking like an eye, Scylla swam under the ship. And last, they didn't mention that Scylla is actively singing while ripping Ody's men to bloody chunks and limbs. Edit: forgot to add this, bee's wax was used as a waterproofing agent back in ancient times, so they'd likely have like a barrel of it to repair holes in the ship and such, that's where they got it from, most likely.

I like how in GiGi's animatic for Scylla, Scylla's vision almost reads like thermal vision (reminded me of the Predator), which explains really well why she goes after the people holding the torches.

Casper, do you know how hard it is to swim without legs? That goes doubly for fish. Not to mention they HAVE to keep moving through water to get oxygen in their gills. Plus in this animatic, their arms got tied up
