Compared to their 2023 recap video, T&C's 2024 recap video was ... a little better.
The Z6iii's AF is WAAAAY better than the Z6ii. Not a little, Jared Polin rates it as superior to the sony A7iv.
The Z6III is only a little better than the Z6 II? Come on.
Z6III, 6k raw recording, ProRes raw, Nlog, fast sensor, good AF, great colors, great slowmo, less than $2.5k... Etc The Northrups: just a little bit better 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I'm now 100% free from Adobe! Thank you guys for your guidance!
The ZF was the highlight for me. It’s a better camera than any of the Fuji retro cameras and the lenses are better quality.
I just went back to see all of your videous because youtube did`n`t show your videos since the autumn of 2024... Keep it going guys!
The R1 is awesome, don't listen to the haters.
Sony a9!!!! Came out in 2024 . This changed photography in so many ways.
Guys I love what you do, but this came off as a bit jaded. To me this was a very interesting year in the industry and a positive one because for the first time in a while sales are starting to rise again. This was a year that Nikon and Panasonic started learning from Fuji, by bringing retro looks, downloadable LUTs and high quality B&W shooting in their products: putting the shooting experience more front and centre. This was also a year of some truly spectacular new lenses, including the rise for the first time of a genuinely high quality Chinese lens manufacturer in Viltrox. We are finally moving past the technical specification era of photography and with a new and expanding the community of photographers who care more about form factor, looks, and experience. New cameras are getting more expensive by the circular economy is booming and second hand kit is more popular than ever. Lots of positives and lots to be excited about in the year to come, even if the traditional manufacturers have not had their most imaginative year
It seems everyone forgot what Nikon did with Z9 firmware updates, turning good camera into beast. When I see people getting exited with Sony A1 mark 2 video autofocus improvements, I just look to my Z9 and thank Nikon again&again for firmware updates, instead of releasing Z9 mark 2. Peace!
The AF in the s9 is amazing. open gate and hybrid zoom are game changers.
I'm disappointed?? Yeah I'm disappointed but not because of the camera manufacturers but because I keep watching photography YouTubers and reading rumor sites LOL. As much as I enjoy the content it is this exact type of content that has us expecting/demanding more and more (insert your own hyperbole here) 'innovation' when in reality actual innovation takes time to develop and refine for a mass market. So what we get instead are minor and incremental upgrades to appease the YouTubers so they have something to talk about and affiliate links to put in their show notes and of course to appease the stockholders who are, ultimately and sadly the most important aspect of all this. I've been a part of a few photography groups in my time and we always end up talking more about gear than our actual photography. I'm fortunate that I get to do this professionally, albeit in the real estate industry, which I kind of consider to be bullshit photography, at least here in Australia it is. Outside of that I find myself asking this question about myself and of so many other hobby photographers I bump into...."is this an actual hobby or is it just consumerism????" Is too early to be making New Years resolutions because my resolution is to consume less photography content and actually do the bloody photography lol.
Didn't the Panasonic GH7 merit a mention? That was a much more favorably reviewed camera than the S9. Don't MFT cameras count?
🙂The "Little Better Podcast." I Love it.
I guess 2024 was too late for anyone to care that Panasonic added PDAF to the G series. Didn't even merit a "Finally!"
Nikon and M43 user here. Slim pickings for m43 this year. The OM1 mark II was just a modest upgrade. I still use the mark I. It's more than good enough. If 20MP was an issue, I'd go for the G9II, but it's not an issue. The lack of true mid and entry-level cameras is disappointing, Panny and Oly used to release those nearly every year. Nikon was busier this year, but none of their offerings really interest me. I still use a Z6 mark I. No interest in APSC. I mourn the death of the Z7 line.
Michaelangelo's motto ancaro imparo doesn't mean I'm still buying! Better learning, better pictures. My jubilation / dejection is gaged by the quality of my pictures and skill enhancement, and so overall this year I'm happy. But still yearning learning!!
Thanks for the great videos guys
