@autisticautomaton

If I had a nickel for every blue cartoon dog from a preschool show that was girl but is frequently confused for a boy by periphery audience …I'd have 2 nickels

@DNDZ469

In the Detective Pikachu movie, Mewtwo’s lines were a combination of a male and female’s voice performance to keep it lore accurate

@AbsolutelyAri1

"NOOOO! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO OBEY MEEEE!"

The seven misgendered characters:

@Alahyana

To be honest, for years I thought Tails from Sonic the hedgehog was female, not only because of his voice, but because, the first Sonic cartoon I ever watched, in the Spanish translation Tails was female, Sonic even called him hermana that means sister, so it was a shock for me to learn Tails is in fact male!

@KIR6YLOVESYOU

i think the confusion (pun intended) with mewtwo is the fact that everytime mewtwo is voiced, its always a deep masculine voice

@jonmcknight18

They actually make a joke about people confusing Bluey for a boy in the episode double babysitters.

@cmcgoogle1687

Another reason I used to think Nernal was female was because of his voice in "Garfield and Friends".

@ds1vasW

"hey what gender are you?"
"Oh im Mewtwo"

@silfuszerilius4594

To be fair, Bluey is definitely one those girls you can say has her daddy’s face.

@ylWizardYT

In The Looney Tunes Show, Tweety's gender is kept ambiguous, though presumed to still be male

@CaptainSteve1495

Godzilla has been a seahorse this whole time

@idrees-2012

Tbh Godzilla is always considered as “the king of the monsters”

@Iguro-sonic

Bro ever thought Double D was a girl- ?

@YellowMage

Fun fact: the "blue=boy, pink=girl" stereotype used to be reversed; pink was considered masculine since it's a shade of red, while blue was considered feminine by association with the Virgin Mary.

@jnl7196

“You have to be male or female!!!”

Mewtwo: hey

@AveryTurner-ot9hx

Fun fact: the game “Thank goodness you’re here!” Actually gives multiple male characters eyelashes.

@omarmendez0402

Miles "Tails" Prower, despite being male, he was misgendered as a girl in his debut appearance; even being called as Vivi

@kenyarimabry3167

Turk actually got me when I first found out.

@lordnokia4222

Turk the gorilla is the most well understood but accurate portrayal of a tomboy. And it's sad af how often many female characters are miscasted as tomboy, while having none of the traits of one.

"Godzilla has gone WOKE"
Godzilla: SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH
