Amen Amen๐. A clear understanding of the calling to faith means in our lives. "Being chosen is not about status, it's about surrender." If there is one lesson to be found in the New Testament, it is that we are given a free will to live and lead our lives. The truth is, that while we were created with a purpose by God, we must give of ourselves freely in order to complete that purpose. Failure to do so doesn't mean that God abandons us, no, we are His children and He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. But here is an interesting verse in John that piques our mind, John 14:12, "Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do he shall do also;and greater works than these he shall do; because I go unto my father." The true strength in faith is accomplished by our works. If we do not surrender ourselves COMPLETELY, then our faith will never come to complete fruition. It is not a contest that we win to be chosen by God to complete His work, but rather our desire to immerse our life in His will. Just as Christ surrendered His life to the cross, so it is that we must surrender ours to the will of God. Jesus Christ did not just die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, but though His life in the flesh showed us the meaning of the fruitful life of faith we should live and share. John 15:13 is the unquestionable completion to the mission that our faith should have, whether literally or symbolically, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." We have seen this done literally in war, but the same can be said of the Saints in completing the mission they were called to. As noted in the reflection today, this is the language of mission, of outward love, of sacrificial service. Matthew 22:14 highlights this, "While many people are invited to salvation or a particular opportunity, not everyone will respond in the right way or accept it fully." This emphasizes the importance of a genuine commitment and transformation, rather than superficial acceptance. Again, it is a complete surrendering to the will of God and the desire to do His will. Heavenly Father, give us the strength to overcome our fears and doubts in serving You. Let our faith and trust in your word motivate us to accept the mission that You have for us. May our works in Your name be acceptable in Your sight and show You our commitment to Your will. We rejoice and are glad as Your disciples, to serve Your will and complete the mission You have desired of us. Let all honor and glory be to You, Father! Amen ๐๐๐๐๐
