One day, we need Casper showing Mortius something that he hasn’t heard of.

@renees4577

The Icarus line is the only scrap they have from history- they found a letter from Angelica where she says that exact line. Love your reactions!

@ceciwynne4154

Something else I love theatrically about Burn is how they found the exact type of paper that can burn live onstage for the exact amount of time it needs to, so when Eliza gets up and walks offstage, the paper stopped burning. It’s so cool to know that

@DarkestNova556

It’s important to mention that in the song “Burn” Eliza’s main heartbreak is not only him cheating but the fact he let EVERYONE know and didn’t even tell her. I honestly believe they could’ve worked it out with each other if the only person he told was her especially because affairs weren’t exactly uncommon at the time period.

@riversoblivionstudios

"You've married an Icarus, he's flown too close to the sun" is a lyric that has followed me since the first time I heard it; it's just so damn good.

@JustPlainDontAsk

Fun fact about real history: at the time of the Reynolds Pamphlet, Maria Reynolds had been divorced from James Reynolds for 4 years.

Aaron Burr was her divorce lawyer.

While not much is known of their actual relationship, Burr did later petition a Congressman to help her daughter attend a boarding school in Boston.

@chadoakley8505

Ron Chernow explained in an interview that the line "You've married an Icarus...." was actually written in a letter The real Angelica wrote to Eliza. He discovered it during his research for his biography..

@boomgirlbucko

Lin supposedly said that the piano transition between The Reynolds Pamphlet and Burn was by far his proudest transition.

@mangacraz00

I want to point out a little thing that is basically cropped out of the show. At the end of the Reynolds Pamphlet, Jefferson leans down and hands a copy of the pamphlet over to the conductor of the orchestra!
When I saw it on tour, the conductor was sitting too far away, so he pulled a copy that he was hiding behind his music score and held it up for everyone to see. Proving the point the song is trying to make that everyone has read this 😂

@darkness_hound1375

13:59 Maybe because Angelica never feels satisfied so she puts more and more notes to try to fill the song because it's not enough, while Eliza just settles with a more simpler version👀?

@Truffle474

Pffft Casper accidentally calling Mortious 'Washington' then Mortious calling Casper 'Hamilton' by accident. I love this duo channel so much istg.

@KyliaSkydancer

Burn made me sob so hard. We're all so protective of Eliza because of this.

The real Eliza staunchly denied all the rumours that her husband was cheating on her until he published the pamphlet, she had absolute faith in him which was shattered.

@disableddragonborn

The thing I love about "The Reynolds Pamphlet" is that they literally just modernized the phrasing. I've read the actual pamphlet, and it's SCANDALOUS. Why Alexander thought it would be a good idea is beyond me.

@mushroom4286

I hope you both react to the first draft of Burn called First Burn after finishing the whole Hamilton musical! The other Actresses that played Eliza all sang it together and it was incredible! It would give you contrast to how it first started out and how the final product differs from it

@vly9257

We don't have a pile of ashes that is labeled Eliza's letters, but they know that some are missing because Alexander and Angelica and others mentioned them in their correspondence. We do know that Alexander did sleep in his office for a time after the Reynolds situation (not sure if after the Pamphlet or earlier when Eliza probably really found out) but Alexander claimed (in a letter to someone else) that he chose to stay in his office out of guilt...... likely story..... 😏
Casper, you aren't the only one for whom the infidelity hits hard. These lyrics are painful...

@itwasisa_1561

i could be wrong but im pretty sure the line ''let future historians wonder how eliza reacted when you broke her heart'' is because there is no documentation of her response and how she reacted and what she did after

@lydiavalentino

Shoutout to "Burn" for immediately becoming an almost cliché audition song

@lysanthya9975

Finally Casper was able to show Motius something he hadn’t seen lmao, even if it was just a dude ABSOLUTELY breaking it down 😂

@disableddragonborn

Of course Angelica clocked him. When they first met, Alexander basically pulled a "We are the same, you and I," (to quote "Scylla" again) by telling her he can never be satisfied, and can tell she's the same way.
