@artatmidnight

to balance the negativity, let's share some positivity! what's your favourite thing about the original animation? 🍎❤

@trinaq

After Angourie Rice in "Mean Girls", and now Gal Gadot, I have to question WHY Hollywood insists in casting actors who blatantly can't sing in their musicals.

@noodledaddy3234

It’s pretty ironic that the 1930s Snow White saved Disney from bankruptcy and the live action remake is making Disney lose so much money

@Nyzahnewton

Hopefully this movie will convince people to support more indie creators that aren’t restricted by things like breaking the box office or sticking to what “works” because they have the freedom to craft stories that truly reflect unique voices and perspectives.

@Ninjaforrver

6:45 I think Disney missed this in their attempt to “fix,” Snow White. That we’ve all wished someone would show up and fix all of our problems. And yes, some do wish for that to be a prince.

So all they had to do was actually make Snow White more passive at the start, and then grow into the leader her father knew she could be.

What she WANTS, is that someday her prince will come, but what she NEEDS is to take charge herself and bring the kingdom together.

Oh if only

@anyaaa2801

At least, this movie being meh means that people will appreciate The Huntsman and Mirror Mirror more haha.

@anyaaa2801

I need to talk to whoever casted Gal Gadot. Like you're telling me they couldn't find someone who can ACT???

@AttackZack_Entertainment

Cinderella 2015 is still the best disney live action remake

@theloverlyladylo9158

The issue with a lot of the Disney live-action adaptations is that they’re not adapting the animated movies; they’re adapting late 2010s bad-faith criticisms of those movies. They’re trying to fix problems that literally are not in the stories. It’s the screenwriting equivalent of adding a shelf to a piece of furniture because someone said it lacks storage space; completely ignoring that that piece of furniture is a chair.

Also anyone who complains that any Snow White isn’t prettier than their evil queen has completely missed the point of the fairy tale.

@danielmalinen6337

A fun fact about the prince in the animated Snow White: his name is not Prince Charming as many people incorrectly refer to it today, but Prince Florian and he was the first named Disney prince, although this bit of information has faded into trivia. Also in the move script, Florian's age was stated as 18 years old and not 31 years old, which was actually the age of the character's voice actor. And another thing about the original animated film was that Florian was supposed to have a bigger role as he had known Snow White since their childhood and later the Evil Queen was supposed to imprison Florian in a dungeon while she went to give Snow White the poisoned apple, but these parts as well as the scene where the dwarves eat the soup were cut for budget and animation reasons.

@FrabbyCrabsis

God, you're so right in your intro. Dozens and dozens of people had the power to decide what this film was going to be, and none of them acknowledged that the original (simple, gentle, romantic) version is the reason any of them have their fucking jobs. All of these awful adaptations fail to celebrate why these films were so impactful, but this one especially so.

@badeggontheyoutube145

and it kinda feels like there is a a pee filter over everything. everything is piss yellow. I'm sorry, I don't have another comparison 😭 everything in this movie reminds me of urine

@marycatherine4902

10:23 FINALLY SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT THE WIG 😭😭😭 how did that get approved. It doesn’t even really look like the original’s hairstyle which I’m sure is part of what they were going for. The length? The part? Everything is just so awful. How do you give her that wig and be like “THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MAIDEN IN THE LAND” Bffr

@papermr.magolorguy7957

I feel like Dopey would be fine if he was accepted for being non-verbal. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth because they could have him do something new. (Maybe learning Sign-Language) without erasing his non-verbalness

@anyaaa2801

To me honestly the biggest atrocity is that awful costume and haircut they gave her.

And removing the Prince completely and replacing him with a low tier bandit who looks like he sleeps in a trashcan with that AWFUL costume.

@0deadx21

This film is the exact opposite of what Cinderella was. Never have I seen a live-action Disney Princess movie sink to such depths. This movie became outdated before it was even released.

@RumpledRegina

I'm gonna say it once again: s1 of Once Upon A Time really got WHY Snow White is brave through kindness. I don't understand why modern movies refuse to acknowledge that. Snow melt the Huntsman's heart because her heart was kind and pure, full of forgiveness which is genuinely so RARE. It's not that hard to do it. They did a version of it in their live action Cinderella ffs. Which is their best live action movie by the way.

@raikaschieck1634

i heard a review in which the reviewer believed the queen gave snowwhite an ugly haircut on purpose and was shocked that she kept it, after the evil queen was defeted XD

@glowgeniq

whats also crazy is that the person who made snow whites dress, Sandy Powell, also designed cinderella’s live action dress. So I believe that Disney themselves force creatives to change their vision. Imagine the dress we could’ve gotten in this movie.. 😭

@kodiharmon7738

I can see why people find the storyline of having Dopey find his voice to be sweet- but for me its off putting. Taking an originally entirely nonverbal character and adding "discovering their voice" to their storyline in a remake feels kinda gross to me. Its like they're "fixing the problem", and that reads as ableist to me.
