Lyrics:

Why do I keep on chasing star trails
Looking for you

Midnight hours, messing with my mind when you walked away
And now I’m left picking up the pieces in your wake
Watched us drift apart in the night
This was never a part of the, part of the plan
And maybe we burned a little too bright
But I’d fall for you over and over again

One last wish
You know I can’t resist
Everything that I’ll miss
Tell me, can we save this?

Why do I keep on chasing star trails
Looking for you
When I know you’re already long gone
Fading from view

Keep on chasing stars
Wondering where you are
Falling in the dark
Lost you from the start

Burning fires, broken constellations, all the signs
Maybe we were never written in the stars, always lost in time
‘Cause I see your light reflected in mine
And I don’t feel like letting you, letting you go
So I’ll chase you down, don’t wanna admit
This truth that I already, already know

One last wish
You know I can’t resist
Everything that I’ll miss
Tell me, can we save this?

Why do I keep on chasing star trails
Looking for you
When I know you’re already long gone
Fading from view

Keep on chasing stars
Wondering where you are
Falling in the dark
Lost you from the start

‘Cause I don’t know where, where to find your heart
Always left behind, always falling apart
So I’m keeping on, keep on chasing stars
Can you tell me now, tell me where you are
‘Cause I don’t know where, where to find your heart
Always left behind, always falling apart
So I’m keeping on, keep on chasing stars
Can you tell me now, tell me where you are

Why do I keep on chasing star trails
Looking for you
When I know you’re already long gone
Fading from view

‘Cause I don’t know where, where to find your heart (Keep on chasing stars)

BABE WAKE UP THE MV FOR THE FIST ARCHIVE 02 SONG JUUUUSTT DROPPED

@ZhaoZimingPl

The 2nd Archive is about the human feeling of 'Desire'!

@mattheoprannac

I love everything about this, from your ethereal voice to the beautiful music video and the fantastic production, this one might dethrone Lost in Space from my top spot!

@forgefireproductions2897

So the last album was called anger. I wonder what this album will be called? My guess is either longing, grief, admiration or obsession. This is just based on the lyrics of the song. I’m super excited for the next song!

@nova_cove

Came for the fan songs, stayed for the absolute bangers that have blessed my ears, love your stuff so much, this might be one of my favorites of all time from you :D

@I_am_SX

Omg can’t wait. I’ve been listening to this when it came out for hours on loop. Can’t wait for the vid. It’s gonna be so pogggggg!

@HedaSophie

Not sure why I’m even typing all this here but thank you so much for this song! I found it the other day after my best friend showed your account to me. ❤

I have an OC ship / couple with two girls I love to draw or write about, one being very heavily star / constellation inspired and one is very sun inspired. If I wouldn’t know better, I‘d think this song was written about their story cause you have no idea how much it fits them :‘) like word for word.

Written from the star related girl‘s POV, and she even LOOKS like the silhouette you have in the video too. It’s so wild 😭

I love this song so much, I put it in the playlist I have for them. Thank you for your music! 💫

@Rosshualian

I couldn't stop thinking about how this song fit Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint perfectly. This is definitely among my top favorites alongside Cycles, Pomegranate Lips, and Headcase!! Can't wait for your next song <33

@WildWriter

Didn't know there would be an MV version >:O
The hype is on for this.
The song is amazing, so I'm curious what the MV is like.
Fallen Stars
(Story inspired from the song Star Trails by Derivakat.)

Althea was a bright girl who was always burning with passion.

Aside from her charismatic personality, she also had a radiating beauty.

Slowly, Bryan fell for her.

Unlike Althea, he was a timid and reserved boy.

He often sat at the back and preferred to keep communication to a minimum.

After going through what he did in his past...

His heart had frozen, unable to feel neither joy nor pain.

On the first day of classes, he thought it would be the same as last year.

Until he saw her.

Her smile was unlike those he'd seen before.

It felt uplifting.

It felt assuring.

It felt warm.

It shined a light into his frozen heart...

Slowly, it began to thaw.

Slowly, he began to sit at seats closer to the front, where Althea sat.

Slowly, expressions came back to his face.

Slowly, darkness faded from his thoughts.

Slowly, she began to notice his admiring gazes.

He began to fear that she thought he was weird.

In an instant, he was back at the back seats.

If he was going to cause her discomfort, he'd rather stay in his abyss...

But in his abyss, light still reached him.

"Why are you all the way back here?"

He lifted his head from his desk and saw her.

But this time, her smile was different.

It had a mix of sadness and concern.

He thought to himself "Why?"

"Why would you come for me?"

After a month passed by, they began to get closer.

Despite not saying a word about it, she already knew how he felt.

A year had passed and they had become close friends.

Another year passed and they were now best friends.

By the third year, she began to feel how he felt.

But still, he kept his feelings to himself.

If he wouldn't confess, then she would.

She told him how she felt with utmost sincerity.

Bryan cried in joy, but only for a moment.

He began to cry tears of anxiety as spoke words of self-doubt.

But Althea wiped his tears away and held him close and whispered

"Do you love me as I love you?"

Bryan replied, "...I do."

Althea smiled.

From the four years they had met, they had spent time as lovers for one year.

As the year passed, a million memories were made.

Their love grew as they made their way into their future.

If only I could say "happily ever after..."

A week before their graduation, Bryan invited Althea to view some upcoming shooting stars.

It was going to happen the night of their graduation.

Such an event would be a perfect memory.

As the graduation came to an end, they agreed to meet up at their usual spot.

It was a big pond that had an atmosphere of serenity.

They would often sit on a huge stone slab and talk to each other for hours.

And so, Althea was filled with excitement the entire week, thinking about that promised moment.

All week long, she had a smile on her face.

The day had finally come.

Their graduation ceremony had finished, but they still had hours until the shooting stars.

Althea headed home to change and prepare.

Bryan smiled and waved as Althea left...

But when she was no longer in sight, his smile had faded.

His face crumpled in frustration as tears rolled down his face.

"Just a little longer."

"Just one more day."

"Please..."

"Let me... Make Thea smile a little longer."

Althea arrived at the spot 30 minutes early from their schedule.

"Weird."

"Why isn't he here yet."

"He's usually an hour early for our dates."

Five minutes passed...

Althea felt tired and sat down.

Ten minutes passed...

Althea messaged Bryan to tell him she was there already.

Fifteen minutes passed...

Althea started to feel lonely.

20 minutes passed...

Althea began to worry.

25 minutes passed...

Bryan still hasn't replied.

30 minutes passed...

Bryan still hasn't arrived.

Althea tried calling Bryan.

But no one answered the call.

She began to panic.

Her breathing became unstable.

In a moment, the dark thoughts had spread in her mind.

But nevertheless, she tried her best to calm down.

She tried calling their other friends.

But they didn't know where Bryan was.

They didn't even know about their meet-up.

So, she tried calling Bryan's parents.

But they said they didn't know where he was.

...The shooting stars began.

As the shooting stars streamed across the sky, tears streamed down Althea's face.

She ran through the forest...

She ran along the road...

She ran all over the city...

She ran all around...

But she couldn't find him.

People looked up at the shooting stars in awe.

But Althea couldn't even look forward.

She could only see the puddle of her tears.

In her moment of despair, she heard a voice...

"Why are you all the way back here?"

She looked up in search of the face she longed to see.

...But he wasn't there.

It was just a trick played by her mind.

She doesn't even understand why.

Why does she feel like her world is ending?

She pulled herself together and went back to the lake.

"Maybe he was just late."

"He's probably waiting for me there."

"He must be worried."

She rushed back to the lake.

But still, he wasn't there...

Finally, a phone call.

It was Bryan's father.

They know where Bryan is now.

A man found him in a toilet cubicle, lifeless.

On the phone call, Bryan's father explained to Althea what Bryan had kept hidden from her.

Originally, Bryan was a smart and kind kid who dreamed of becoming a doctor.

But a year before they met, he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

His dream profession had just told him he wouldn't live to become one.

He became less expressive and gradually lost his emotions throughout that year.

Bryan had fallen into depression.

But the year after, he met her.

Bryan had fallen in love.

Slowly, he began to find the light he had lost.

And by miracle, his health also improved.

But, the miracle did not heal him.

He was still terminally ill.

The sickness slowly resurfaced.

But he tried his best to fight it back.

He hid it so that she wouldn't have to worry.

He endured the pain for as long as he could.

And then came the week before graduation.

He felt it deep inside him.

Like the school year, his end was near.

Before his death, he wanted to give Althea a memory to remember him by.

And it just so happened that there would be shooting stars on the night of their graduation.

As Althea smiled through the week with excitement, Bryan faced it with grit trying to live 'till the promised day.

As soon as Bryan's father had finished explaining things to Althea, the last shooting star faded from the sky.

Since then, she hasn't been the same.

Her bright personality became gloomy.

She was no longer passionate and lost interest in everything...

But once a year, light shines from her eyes.

She visits the lake.

Looks up to the sky.

And starlight shines bright on her tears.

As she remembers every memory.

That she holds on to dearly.
