@srvuk

I thought that the general reason for Tiny 10/11 was to enable things to run more smoothly on lower end systems, especially those with small amounts of RAM. So for me, this gaming test was not really in the right ballpark to begin with.

@gearfriedtheswmas

Friendly advice: debloating won't eliminate bottlenecks from gpu, run these tests again on 1080p then we'll talk.

@gerritvisser

The benefit of de-bloating is in reducing memory and disk space. the reduced cache would also mean less swapping/disk usage to load those apps when they wake up And, perhaps more usefully, reduced downloads for updates of now-not-installed apps. The latter is why I am using it to build a system for someone who is on satelite internet.

@polymatrix

I tested Tiny 11 vs Win11 for battery life, thinking fewer system resources would show an improvement. My test was very limited, but one commenter suggested that the reason Win11 got the better battery life was because: the relevant Windows services that optimize for battery life were missing from Tiny11.

@keancv

Yes mate, be interesting to see how tiny 11 compares on a more modest system as I suspect that is what it is meant for

@yushaaangamia9599

I installed Tiny11 on my laptop and it ran much better than Windows 11. Yes I would love to see you test Tiny11 on a lower end system

@timothyhood2827

I would like to see a test of a lesser system. My GPU is rather wimpy.

@stevedoetsch

Yes please run the test with a CPU bound computer because that will show us whether or not tiny 11 is worth the effort since we have to make it ourselves

@carlosdj81

Hi friend, I would be interested in seeing how the Tiny 11 operating system works on a computer that is 10 to 12 years old.

@Beauc4652

I did the debloat with the answers file and installed the new image this morning. Gaming performance hasn't changed much, but the snappiness of the system in navigating around various things, including just internet browsing is noticeable. Not to mention the boot time being mere seconds. I like it. And now it only contains exactly what I've installed and nothing extra- the way it used to be.

@10esseeTony

An RTX 3060 at 4k? And you expect improvements from the OS at 4k? Please stop wasting our time.

@TheSamdroidOnline

Tiny 11 is meant for older/entry level computer systems. That's where you see the difference in performance. Laptops are still being sold with 4GB of RAM running Windows 11, and that's where you will see the performance boost regarding Tiny 11.

@kourgath007

I am fairly certain that most folks that are looking to reduce the amount of telemetry data that is being collected by Microsoft. Maybe you could do some comparisons between default Windows 11 and a Tiny11 install that compares the amount of data that leaves your computer without your knowledge. Additionally, I am fairly certain that the number of running processes is dramatically lower on Tiny 11 upon initial install.

@alexb.1320

With the processing power and speeds we got today, finding any practical differences is probably next to impossible. Turn back the clock to when terminating a bloat process made an immediate noticable difference, debloat made a heck of a difference. These days, I think the shift needs to be more concerned with keeping telemetry and privacy robbing bloat from running in the background.

@Madd_Jack

I miss the days when I could just purchase the OS and it wouldn't be filled with a bunch of junk including telemetry sending my data to random servers in every corner of the universe.

@eriksiers

I remember complaining about XP taking over a gig of drive space, and declaring that I'd stick with 2000 as long as possible.

@IAcidburnI

I doubt there will ever be much difference between a fresh stock Windows install and a debloated one in games. What I believe would be noticeable is a difference in daily tasks, especially on older hardware with less RAM, or older/cheaper laptops that some just use to browse the web, watch a movie, YouTube and so on. So just opening/loading a browser or an extra tab and watching a YT video would be much better on a debloated system that has like 4GB-8GB of RAM and a slower CPU.

@TheMikkaht

As you said, would be interesting to see performance difference on a lower end system, or on 1080p res as the CPU bottleneck will be more prevalent

@ApexLodestar

This was great and it goes to show you even bloated W11 is optimized enough at least for gaming.
