I definitely gotta get that book.. Iāll be ordering that this week. Yesterday I had to string one of my five strings differently because of a tuning I have to play in for a gigā¦ So now that bass has a higher āA sharpā (drop C tuning) string instead of a lower thicker gauge string like the rest of my 5 stringsā¦ wow, I get it. Immediately I thought of you, it makes perfect sense and it changes your playing in a way more melodic way. Pretty amazing thatās for sure, I played that thing for about 4 hours straight yesterday when I should have been working on those songs.. Iāll learn them, but I will now use that A sharp anywhere I can!

I'm a beginner, but you got me into playing a 5 string with a high c and it's super fun! May I ask why you hover with your thumb instead of locking it on the top string. Is it easier to get a more consistent tone?
