The EU is a global leader in pharmaceutical production, with European countries accounting for 79.7% of global pharmaceutical exports in 2018, valued at $295.8 billion. Major EU producers like Germany, Ireland, Belgium, and Italy have robust manufacturing capabilities, focusing on complex APIs and high-quality products. Sure, prices might go up in Europe, but it's not like Europe is dependent on us for medicine or healthcare, in fact, the US buys more pharmaceuticals from Europe than Europe buys from US... *edit Based on available trade and production data for 2024: EU self-production: ~70-75% of the EU market, driven by intra-EU production and trade (e.g., Germany, Italy, Belgium,etc). Imports from the US: ~15-20% of the market. Imports from the rest of the world: 5-10%, primarily from Switzerland (33% of extra-EU imports), the UK (~7%), and others like China and India.

But don't US medication already go from between 10x to 1500x the global average? Like the drugs manufacturered for a few cents per dose, are going for hundreds & thousands of dollars per bottle, meanwhile a lot of the times buying the same medication manufactured abroad they're only priced for dozens to several hundred dollars. 😐 Also who's gonna pay for those price cuts, your big pharma isn't just gonna take that lying down if it means their executives can't buy a new yacht or summer home every quarter. 😂🤣🤣

Honestly this just might lead drug prices from Us going up in price globally so they can still sell them at high market values which causes drug made outside US more favorable and reducing US influence on world as whole.
