These fender shop custom guitars used to blow my mind, and then i discovered Novo guitars (now out of Nashville) which blows every Fender custom-shop or not out of the water. It’s like… you want a Nitro finish light relic’ed Jazzmaster that refuses to go out of tune no matter how hard you beat it? Yeah, we got you covered. After owning some very nice Strats, Teles, SG’s, and Les Pauls for 20 years, i stumbled upon a Novo Serus J in bull black earlier this year and have never looked back. Sure, they’re expensive, generally between $3,500-5000 but you absolutely get what you pay for and more.

Everyone’s talking about the relic, but I’d like to see more teles with the reverse pickup on the bridge. I bet it takes some of the ice pick off the high strings & adds twang to the lows

Well worn “vintage” guitars are so cool, but they have become absurdly expensive, well out of the reach of most young players. ‘Relic’d’ guitars meet the demand for more affordable replicas, and many are equal to or better quality than the originals. Now, some of the ‘relics’ are getting expensive!

I own a rare Hellecaster Jazzacaster Will Ray Fender custom shop and a John Jorgenson double tele Hellecaster Fender custom shop. I also own the Hellecadter Japanese series they released. All are personally autographed. I like them all. ❤

I don’t like relics but for a different reason expensive and you can naturally get a relic guitar over time especially if you gig outside
