Great remake of a fav song of mine. We, the so called "ordinary people" want peace all over the world. Is there anyone amongst you guys that doesn't want peace? Our desire for peace goes unheard by our politicians. How come the politicians ruling this world do not want to hear our call for peace? Do those politicians really represent our viewpoint? Do you think all those politicians care about our well being? They don't give a damn what we think and they don't care how many people will die in this actual war in the Ukraine or in any future possible war to come. In contrary they are doing anything to make it worse. Anyone who still thinks that "our politicians" really care for our well being should think twice. We, the people - we want peace. Is there any politician world wide talking about peace right now? No, not a single politician what ever country he might come from is promoting peace. In fact even if the were for peace they are not allowed to talk about peace at least not im public. IS THIS THE WORLD YOU WANT TO LIVE IN? Wake up people to what's going on. Make up your mind and realize what's happening!? How come you people are listening to this song about peace without calling for peace? I don't get it! WE GOTTA HAVE PEACE! There's no choice.Give peace a chance. Nothing will change if you don't raise your voices agains war and for peace!

I would suggest a compulsory listening to this remarkable remix of a true peace-classic for ALL the current leaders in the field of politics, business, entertainment and religion. All of them! The K-Tel samplers were also huge in Middle Europe. Unfortunately I only remember the ones from the early to the mid Seventies, the time my interest in music began to develop. Those samplers contained lots of Disco music, more or less well-known stuff played by mainstream radio stations. They were advertised by very loud and colourful TV spots. I can't deny I was fascinated by the spots, but no wonder, I was a boy of twelve or thirteen back in the days 😀 However, I didn't know K-Tel also had released Soul samplers earlier. So, interesting background information Mr. Cat, needless to say as usual! Thank you once again!

K-Tel Records really does take me back to my youth!!! Curtis, what can one say. One of the most distinguished soul voices of the late 1960s onwards, so gentle yet insightful with his lyrics about social issues of the day, yet also getting funky when called for. So tragic what happened to this legendary soul man with that on-stage accident. So many records to choose from him, and it is so hard to choose one to work on I'd say! Great stuff, any chance in the future of reworking something from the great Johnny Guitar Watson, please. Stuff like "I Need It" that has a great shuffle to it and horn section, or the more sleazy mellow "I Want To Ta Ta You Baby" perhaps! Mark GV - Reference Point

Thanks so much for posting this. It's my favourite Curtis song and you've done him proud.👏👏 The K-Tel lot really zoomed in on the British Christmas ads and I think some of their albums were in our Autumn/Winter 70s catalogue 😄😄. I notice there are some comments about Ronco, lol. They seemed to do loads of things, including hair trimmers and button attachers!😂😂
