@lenhk4049

This is incredible, I'm copying my files right now when I thought they might be lost forever. Thank you so much, I never would have figured this out on my own!

@gjoseph1628

That is some fine informative detail about the dual stufff with Rufus. "Activate Dual UEFI/BIOS mode".

@frosties1665

I had issue with Windows crash before. I still have multiple drivers and luckily I had Linux installed on secondary drive. The most annoying part was that I had to figure out how can I make bootable usb. So, I had to use unetbootin tool, I've read online for solutions, successfully flashed the drive all by using terminal, and now I've got my windows reinstalled with all files saved up without any losses. :D

The worst part of all was... that Linux system didn't even detect my SSD for some reason. So, I had to reinstall Windows on main SSD to save and recover the files I need.

@playmobilstopmotionfun

Some REALLY useful info in here. Thanks, your videos are very helpful!!

@gjoseph1628

This is a neat method. Just need to be able to turn ON the malfunctioning computer. If you cannot at least get it to turn on and stay on, you're stuck.

@gjoseph1628

One would think you want this bootable Hiren's usb tool to be able for reuse at some other occasion; therefore rescue of the desired users' files would be better placed onto a separate storage device and NOT on the Hiren's Boot usb device.

@seangallagher515

In my experience, keep the operating system plus programs on one drive while keeping data, personal files on a second, and do periodic backups to a third. Then, WHEN there is a crash, or when you decide to purchase a new computer, simply remove the data drive and install it in the new computer. The biggest headache is when having to reinstall Windows, ALSO having to reinstall all the programs and change all the customized settings that one had on the old computer. GHOST was a fantastic tool that seems to have gone the way of the Dodo - is there a replacement?

The other issue I've had to deal with, is when the computer owner is deceased, and the heir wants to preserve some data but also wipe all the personal data, and especially any erotic/porn that may be there prior to the reuse/sale/disposal of the computer. One of the complications, is lack of the deceased's password. Another is the computer uses a file system that YOUR computer can't read, so simply adding their HD to your computer will NOT work. Any good suggestions? Possibly a good subject for a video?

@asan1050

Thank you!

Once again, thanks for sharing your computer knowledge and experience. You can never know too much about computers ... even as a user.

@pfitz4881

Awesome utility. Will Secure Boot need to be disabled? I'm assuming you'd need the Bitlocker Key?

@buddyboy4x44

I have my system drive just for system files. All other files are on a separate internal drive. Is there any value to this method (in your video) in this case?

@RonAustin56

Can I do this with a external drive?

@SouthEndicott-k6l

It worked malwarebytes

@ReapWithRick

Great information! Thanks. I ordered a large USB stick and I'll follow the instructions tomorrow when it arrives. Also - I seem to recall seeing or reading somewhere about a way to use a microsoft tool to reinstall Windows without deleting files that also keeps your settings. Am I dreaming or is that really a thing? If it's real can you provide a link or video to show how to do that? Thanks again.
